Welcome back to our blog & happy Friday! Today we are introducing our new pattern, the Patina Blouse! In this blog post we are sharing more details of the Patina Blouse including the yardage requirements, fabric suggestions & more. Keep reading to find out more.
The Patina Blouse is a collared, v-neck, button up top. The sleeves are full and the pattern includes options for a short sleeve or long sleeve with cuff and continuous bound placket. The Patina is designed for light to mid weight woven fabrics. The Patina is an essential button up blouse with a twist and is sure to be the type of top you reach for again and again.
Yardage Requirements
Fit Notes:
The Patina Blouse is loose without being oversized. The sleeves are full so there is a lot of room through the biceps and shoulder area. If your chest, waist, and hips fall into different sizes you may want to blend between multiple sizes to get your perfect fit! The pattern was drafted using sample measurements for a height of 5’6” [168 cm] and a B-cup bra size.
We had some feedback the first few days from our model photos about the fit looking different on our models, with the collar not looking the same for all shapes. We have taken the feedback on board and are creating an 'add-on' to the pattern for varying collar neckline heights so you have a bit more flexibility with the overall fit depending on where you want it.
Fabric Suggestions:
The Patina Blouse works best with woven fabrics in light or medium weights. As the pattern includes a short or longer sleeve the results of your make can vary depending on the sleeve choice and fabric choice. Go for something lightweight like a viscose which is a great fabric for all year round - The shorter sleeve version in a viscose would be great for warmer weather and the longer sleeve layered with a sweater vest or cardigan would be great in winter.
Other fabrics that would work well and look great include linens, cotton blends, double gauz, Twill, brushed cottons, lightweight cotton denims, check fabrics and so many more!
