Me Made Capsule Wardrobe Sewing Pattern Edit | By Chelsea & Paige

In this post we are collating sewing patterns that we are wanting to make to create our dream capsule wardrobes. It's important to both of us to have garments in our wardrobe we can wear on repeat. In this edit we're sharing not only Friday Patterns but other awesome indie pattern brands. Continue reading to see our capsule choices.

Chelsea's Picks:

- First up a Friday Pattern Company Davenport Dress top hack, inspired by Siri Kate's version (check out the guest post blog hack, Siri created). I visualise making this in a sweet block print fabric like this one from Blackbird Fabrics. I'd love to create a Davenport Top & then a matching skirt as a separate so I can wear them together to look like a dress or separates with other items to mix it up and therefore considering the capsule wardrobe.
- Next up, I want to make the Harlene dungarees by Marchant and Mills but as shorts and make them in a brown bull denim or canvas.
- Makyla Creates The Camille Top which I think would look cute on its own or layered over things. I'd like to make this in a nice linen fabric that will be a timeless piece.
- The Elbe Textiles Weiland Tank would be a great staple to have in a capsule wardrobe and I fell in love with this version by @Leila.makes, it's absolutely stunning - Such a simple yet genius modification to make that curved panel hem at the front.

Paige Picks:

I've always been drawn to bright florals, prints and other garish prints when shopping for fabrics. This year I made myself a goal to make more basic and plain items in my me made wardrobe so that I can create a capsule that works with existing pieces I already have. On my 'to sew' list is a variety of patterns that work together or with other items I own. My wishlist of makes is constantly growing but here are the pieces I really want to make up in the next few months.

- Friday Pattern Company Wilder Gown Top; this isn't a new pattern in my repertoire but one I love and wear a lot. I haven't actually made a long sleeved version so I want to create a lightweight Wilder Top in a sheer cotton fabric I have (see in my graphic above).

- Next up is the Erin Dungarees by Tilly and the Buttons! I have wanted to make these for ages but just haven't because I always need to make amends to new patterns. I love how easy these look to style and depending on my mood I can layer them over a cute top (like the Wilder mentioned above) or a simple t-shirt. I have a lovely mint green medium/heavy linen from Sew Me Sunshine.

- The New Craft House Everyday Waistcoat would be another item I think would become a great layering piece. I don't think the pattern serves much function other than looking cute but I'm here for it ha! I want to style it over dresses and jeans by making it in a simple lilac coating (shacket style) fabric from Pigeon Wishes.

- Saguaro Set shorts in a check linen! Okay goes against my plain fabric planning but I have an awesome check linen and have dreamed up these high waist shorts using the Saguaro Set and I want to make a match top and jacket so I have a cool '3-peice' get up, I can then mix and match or wear all together for a super cool look.

That's it! Now all we need to do is get sewing. Have you every considered what pieces you would like to add to your capsule me made wardrobe? How about checking out our patterns here, to see if there is anything you want to add.
