Flâneur is a French term that was popularized in the 19th century to describe a type of person who wanders around for their own enjoyment, generally in an urban setting.
A Flâneur would be someone who saunters about town without specific purpose, seemingly just to observe and explore.
Meet the Flâneur Pants, a wide leg, mid-rise pant for all your adventures - perfect for both strolling through the countryside and exploring a new city. The Flâneurs feature a zip fly with a flat front and elasticated back. They do not have a side seam making them easier to cut and sew as well as making them perfect for sewing in prints! Store your treasures in patch pockets on the side and back. The fit of Flâneurs is comfortable and flexible. Size up for a relaxed slightly oversized pant, size down for a more fitted pant.

RECOMMENDED FABRIC
The Flâneur Pants are designed for mid-heavy bottom weight woven fabrics. Your fabric choice will have a big effect on the look of your pants. For a structured, work wear look, choose a fabric like a cotton canvas, denim, or twill. For a lighter feel you could opt for a 6-8 oz linen, a suiting, or a rayon twill.
Photo shoot Samples:
Size XS sewn up from a 6 oz woven cotton silk fabric. This model was between a size XS and small, we sewed a size XS for a more fitted look.
Size large sewn up from a 6.5 oz cotton/linen blend. This model was between a medium and large and we sized up to a large for a looser fit.
Size 2X sewn up from a 10oz denim. This model was smack dab in the middle of size 2X and we made that size with no adjustments.
FIT NOTES
The Flâneur Pants have a zip fly closure in the front and are elasticated on the back waistband. They do not have a sideseam but are shaped at the hips by a dart. They were drafted using sample measurements for a height of 5’6”[168cm]. If your waist and hips fall into different sizes we recommend blending between sizes. We always recommend sewing up a toile to make sure the fit is right for you before cutting into your good fabric.
