Introducing the Canyon Dress and Top

Introducing our latest sewing pattern launch; the Canyon Top and Dress! In this blog post we talk through the pattern details, model samples, and mock ups of the pattern views in different fabrics.

Introduction:

The Canyon Dress and Top is a breezy, versatile sewing pattern, designed to make you feel comfortable and cute as you swish through the world. It features a band collar, and v-neckline finished with a placket. There is gathering along the front and back yoke seams, giving the Canyon a nice amount of ease. The pattern includes options for long sleeves finished at the wrist with elastic, or short sleeves that hit mid bicep. This is a pull on pattern with no zippers or buttons. The dress view features a comfortable elastic waistband and a tiered skirt with roomy pockets. Pair it with your favorite sweater on an evening stroll or dress it up and wear it on a fancy date!

Different views:

The Canyon comes with multiple views including a long and short sleeve option as well as a dress or top version! Here is a look at the different versions on our models.

Size Chart:

As with all our patterns, we range from a XS-7X and below is the size chart so you can choose the best fit as per your measurements.

Choose your starting size based on your full bust measurement.
When selecting a cup size (B/C or C/D) chose the option closer to the bra cup size that you wear.

Finished Garment Measurements:

The waist of the dress is brought in with elastic. The ‘waist’ measurement provided is for the waist of the dress stretched out.
The ‘dress length’ and ‘top length’ are measured from the center back starting at the top of the collar and measuring down to the hem.
The sleeve lengths provided are measured from the head of the shoulder seam to the hem of the sleeve.

Fabric Recommendations:

The Canyon Dress and Shirt is designed for light to mid weight woven fabrics. Fabrics with a bit of drape will give you more of the dressy look, while crisp fabric will give you a classic sundress. Rayon challis, silk, lawn, voile, linen are all great fabrics for this garment.
