Halloween Costume Sewing Project Ideas Part 2

We LOVE Halloween for it's a great time to get creative, have fun, and express your inner child with dressing up! In this blog post we are sharing some great Halloween Costume sewing project ideas using our patterns, so you can create some looks in time for Halloween. 

Wednesday Addams

With the popularity of the Netflix show Wednesday it isn't surprising to see this costume idea be up there with the most popular! What makes it great is it's also very accessible with our sewing patterns. The items made can go on to be worn after Halloween too so you can make sure your me mades get the love they deserve. 

The patterns selected for this look are the Patina Blouse in a white everyday linen and the Hughes Dress in a cotton lawn, both from Blackbird Fabrics. Style with black tights, brogues and her classic plait ponytails! 

Cottage Core Witch

We love how whimsical and twee this costume would be, with layers of fall style clothing, cute accessories, and a felted or wicker witches hat! 

There are lots of our patterns that would work for this vibe but based on the inspiration we found we love the idea of a Saltwater Slip Dress in deadstock Chiffon, worn styled over the Sagebrush Top in a textured linen both from Minerva Fabrics. You could also use the Saturday Skirt Set but play with different tones of fabrics like these lovely Linens also from Minerva. Style with a cute corset or belt for a extra layer of fairy core cuteness. 

Mime

This is a great easy option for anyone who needs a quick project and something easy to throw-on! Most of us have a stripe tee but if you don't then thankfully our Friday Bateau Top pattern is one of our free/pay what you can options and would be great for a quick thinking halloween costume. Pair with black jeans, braces, white gloves and red shoes and lipstick! All you will need is the right Mime moves to really sell it! 

The Friday Bateau fabric is a stripe jersey, and the trousers are the Rambler Pants in a cotton twill, both from Fabrics Galore. 

Young-Hee

 

Last but not least, another Netflix pop culture reference with this character from the popular show Squid game! The character is the doll like robot called Young-hee and is known for being a creepy addition to the Squid Games trials. The outfit is actually super easy to achieve with a yellow Patina Blouse and a Sleeveless Hughes Dress hack! Style with white socks and black shoes for an easy but fun costume.
