Friday Pattern Company Capsule Me-Made Wardrobe

Friday Pattern Company Capsule Me-Made Wardrobe

Hey! Welcome back to the Friday blog. When designing sewing patterns here at Friday, we always keep in mind how our patterns can work together, and how they can be styled in various ways. With the launch of our latest pattern, the Bernadette Skirt, it's opened up even more styling options and each garment can create a dreamy me-made capsule wardrobe. With that being said, we have put together a fun edit of looks using makes from Paige's wardrobe, to show you just how versatile and fun it can be to create a Friday capsule wardrobe. Continue reading to find out more.

Creating a capsule wardrobe is a fantastic way to streamline your closet, simplify your style choices, and maximise the versatility of your outfits. By using sewing patterns from Friday, you have the opportunity to craft a collection of garments that seamlessly coordinate with one another while reflecting your personal style. Building a capsule wardrobe can be super rewarding and fun to do, and take the stress away from choosing an outfit. Whether you're heading to the beach, travelling to a new city, working from home, or brunching with friends, we think everyone deserves to look and feel good wearing Friday patterns. Having key pieces can really help to make that happen, so you feel awesome every time you reach for your me made garms.

Colour palette:

When creating a capsule wardrobe, keep colour palettes in mind because having a few key colours can help to make each piece multi-use friendly and give you the ability to mix and match. As well as colours, think about your lifestyle and how you usually tend to dress yourself. For example, if you work from home, perhaps you need more loungewear pieces that can also be elevated to style in more dressy ways for when you go out.

Sewing patterns & other items included in this capsule:

- Bernadette Skirt in mint Linen

- Patina Blouse in yellow floral viscose

- Saguaro Set Top & Pants in mustard double-gauze

- Saguaro Set Top in lilac linen

- Donny Shirt in mustard cotton dobby

- Ilford Jacket made into a short sleeved shirt

- Saguaro Set shorts

- Converse, Crocs, sandals and other accessories in the same colour palette

Outfit examples:

Weekend: City break:
Each look has a set 'theme' but to be honest they can be worn whenever! But it was rather fun dreaming up places you would wear the outfits. The Saguaro Set Top teamed with Saguaro Pants (made as shorts) is such a goto summer look!
Weekend: Beach Walk
For a relaxed, casual loungewear look, team the Donny shirt with the Saguaro pants.
Weekend: Day Festival
The belt bag on the Bernadette Skirt would be so great for a festival ,or somewhere you needed to be hands free, maybe a sewing club or course!
Styled with a Saguaro top for a cute, femme look.
Weekend: Lunch with friends
Using the Bernadette Skirt again, this time teamed with the Patina Blouse for a more 'dressed up' outfit look. The high-top Converse, cross body bag and shades give it a more cool city vibe.
Weekend: Casual Vibes
Funky and fun, when styling the Ilford jacket (shirt) together with shorts, it creates a great matching set that has arty, stylish vibes that don't look too 'try hard'.
Weekend: Breakfast Date
The Saguaro Set styled together as it was designed to do it the ultimate elevated loungewear look, from bed to brunch!
Weekend: Flower market
Don't be afraid to clash fabrics or prints slightly, like with the ditsy floral Patina blouse, and Saguaro Pants in the double-gauze! They're all in the mustard tonal colour palette which brings the pieces together nicely. Now all that is needed is a bunch of flowers, and a take-away coffee!
With Friday sewing patterns, you can curate a capsule wardrobe that reflects your unique style and fits seamlessly (pun intended) into your daily life, whatever your lifestyle or personal style preferences. All that is left to do is to get your sewing machine and get to making. Happy sewing!
