Summer style
Depending on the season, it's always great to plan and make your own seasonal pieces. The summer season brings with it an influx of colours, light fabric textures and lovely prints - with lovely dresses, jackets and more. Below are a few ready-to-wear examples that would look great made in Friday patterns.
Sagebrush Top Dress Hack
Puff sleeves are definitely not going anywhere again this summer! With more varieties this summer, in lovely lace fabrics, some big or small and some with frilled hems. It's a great statement look and perfect for the warmer weather when you don't require a jacket on top! The Sagebrush Top pattern is a great choice for it's puff sleeve, but also it's boxy shape lends well to altering and hacking. The Sagebrush dress hack is one we see often on social media, by the amazing sewing community and it's super easy to do.
Top tip - Use the skirt panel from the Wilder Gown pattern & add that to the Sagebrush top, making sure you lift the Sagebrush hem up to sit on your waist (or whatever feels best for you).
The Sagebrush dress hack would look great in sage green tones, bold floral prints and pastels or why not try a lovely lace fabric with lining, to leave the sleeve unlined for a romantic and pretty look.
