Hughes Dress

New Pattern: Meet the Hughes Dress!

New Pattern: Meet the Hughes Dress!

The Hughes Dress is finally here! The Hughes is a surprisingly versatile style that you’ll find yourself wearing constantly. This dress was designed with equal emphasis on wearability and style. The pattern includes options to cut it as a top, above-the-knee length dress, or a midi dress.

One of my favorite details about the dress is the lacing on the back. It allows you to cinch the waist in a bit to get the perfect fit without making you feel restricted.

Bianca (above) is wearing the Hughes Dress cut to the above-the-knee length in an XXL. She is 5’6” tall. The fabric is a light chambray with 3% spandex. Her version has pearl snaps up the front.

Tashjane (below) is wearing the Hughes cut to the midi length in an XS. She is 5’4” tall. The fabric is a floral rayon challis with a lot of drape.

You can shop the pattern here.

Here is some fabric inspiration that the Hughes would look amazing in:

This stunning linen rayon blend from Hart’s Fabric. This comes in a couple other colors and is absolutely TO DIE FOR! I could see the midi length version of the Hughes with wood buttons.

This rayon viscose from Atelier Brunette is beyond beautiful and would make an unreal Hughes. If you are in the US you can order some Atelier Brunette fabrics from Oak Fabrics

These linen dots from Stone Mountain & Daughter. This would make a more structured dress or top. The texture on this fabric is beautiful and would look amazing with demure metal buttons.

Swoon! This floral rayon cotton voile from Blackbird Fabrics would make a super dreamy Hughes Dress. I love the colors watercolor quality on the flowers.
